Castlemanor Retirement Village Official Opening

Túath housing recently celebrated the official opening of one of our schemes in Castlemanor Retirement Village, Cavan. This is a partnership project between Cavan County Council and Túath Housing Association which has resulted in the delivery of 10 new homes in Cavan using Capital Assistance Scheme (CAS) funding made available by the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government.

Cavan County Council’s Cathaoirleach, Councillor Shane P. O’Reilly switched on the Christmas tree lights on Friday 5th December in Castlemanor Retirement Village to officially open 10 bungalows for the elderly and disabled.

All 10no properties are fully occupied with tenants from the Council’s waiting list who are delighted to have been allocated these high quality homes. The tenants are located within close proximity to Cavan Town Centre and have a range of onsite facilities including the nursing home, hairdressers, oratory and community centre. Positive Age occupies an office within the development and host regular activities in the community centre which they encourage all residents to attend. These activities have helped ensure the integration of Túath’s tenants with the other residents living within the development.

Túath and Cavan County Council are therefore delighted to have received funding approval to purchase a further 9no units within this development which we expect to deliver in January 2015.
