What is Cost Rental?
Cost Rental is not-for-profit form of home rental where the rent you pay covers the cost of the construction, management, and maintenance of your new home.
At Tuath, we have provided over 1,000 Cost Rental homes to date, with rents starting at 25% below the average local area rent.

Am I eligible?
To apply for a Cost Rental home, you need to be able to prove the following:
- Your net household income is below €66,000 per annum for Dublin or less than €59,000 for elsewhere in the country
- You are not in receipt of any social housing supports e.g. HAP or Rent Supplement
- You do not own a property in Ireland or elsewhere
- Your household size matches the size of the property advertised
- You can afford to pay the cost rent for the home, meaning that your rent charge does not come to more than 35% of our net household income*
- Your household has only entered one application for a specific Cost Rental property
- You currently reside in Ireland – please note that valid documentation regarding residency status is required, for example a Passport or valid IRP

Terms and conditions for Cost Rental housing in Ireland follow those set out in the Affordable Housing Act, 2021.
